A Home Study option is available for students unable to participate in the classroom lectures and tastings. You receive the WSET study materials, study on your own and take the exam at NYWCC on a date agreed upon with the instructor. For those who are able to attend classes, the in-class option provides several advantages over home study. These advantages include: the increased discipline that classes bring to your studies, networking with other students, the opportunity to have questions answered by instructors, wine tasting instruction, and wine tasting practice at each class.
The cost for Level 2 Home Study is $375. If a home study student is not able to take the exam on a date already scheduled by the NYWCC, and a special exam date must be scheduled, an additional private exam fee will be charged. You must provide15 business days notice to participate in a regularly scheduled exam. The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions. Home Study students must participate in an exam within one year of registration, otherwise additional exam fees apply.
There is no prerequisite for this course. Please take our online quiz to find out if this level is right for you.
