Lorraine Hems has been working in retail, wholesale, and wine education for over 25 years. She is a full-time instructor in the school of International Hospitality and Service Innovation at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Wine Educator and Certified Specialist of Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators and is completing her Diploma through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). In addition to teaching WSET and industry training courses at the Center, she also serves as a wine judge at competitions around the country. She is a Certified Wine Judge having completed the three year program with the American Wine Society. Lorraine has traveled to many wine regions throughout the world, but loves returning to tastings with local groups like the AWS and Women for WineSense.
