Here's your chance to compete in the NYWCC First Annual nICE festival Chili Contest. As part of a team of four, you will work with our chef instructors to create a special version of this popular winter dish. Here's the plan of attack:

• 10am: Convene in the NYWCC Hands-On Kitchen
• 10-10:30am: Assess the market basket of ingredients and plan your dish
• 10:30-11:45am: Cook, taste, re-season
• 11:45am-12pm: Clean-up work stations
• 12:30pm: nICE Festival guests will stop in, sample the chili and vote for their favorite
• 3:30pm: Winner announced

As a participant in this event, we want you to chill in the afternoon and you will receive a free wine tasting ticket. Sign up individually and join a team, or enroll with a group of three friends. Either way, you'll have a blast.   

Join us at our fourth annual nICE festival–a New York State Ice & Dessert Wine tasting and regional food specialty event. Admission includes a signature tasting glass, winery information, plus samples of Ice & Dessert wine, craft beer and specialty food at stations throughout the Sands Gallery. The New York Wine & Culinary Center's Executive Chef, Carlo Peretti, will offer samples of a specially created dish, just for this event. Participating New York State wineries and food producers: Brotherhood Winery, F. Oliver’s, Heron Hill Winery, Hunt Country Vineyards, Inspire Moore Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Mazza Chautauqua Vineyards, Muranda Cheese Co., Red Jacket Orchards, Standing Stone Vineyards, Casa Larga Winery, Sweet Expressions and Three Heads Brewing.

Explore the flavors of winter as you taste seasonal, local foods paired with their perfect match—New York wines! In this class, you will taste three appetizer-sized foods that emphasize seasonal ingredients, and discover how the flavors change when they are paired with three different styles of wine. Our certified wine instructor will be your guide through this entertaining and informative session. This class is designed to be approachable for people of all ability levels, so bring your friends and family members for a delicious introduction to tasting and pairing. Note: the food provided in this class is for educational sampling and is not intended to be a full meal.

Delight your taste buds as you learn about the health benefits of chocolate and wine! Sample three NYS wines paired with three gourmet chocolate desserts prepared by our pastry chef.  Our certified wine instructor will be your guide through this entertaining and informative session. This class is designed to be approachable for people of all ability levels, so bring your loved ones for a delicious introduction to tasting and pairing. This is a scrumptious way to spend your afternoon!
